Creating positive solutions for the conservation and management of coastal and marine spaces
The Coastal and Marine Research Centre (CMRC) brings together Griffith University science and engineering experts from across the marine and coastal fields to promote environmental sustainability through research, higher degree by research supervision, teaching, short courses, partnerships, and community engagement.
We work to increase understanding of coastal dynamics, water quality, aquatic ecology, human interference and the impacts of climate change, as well as improve management strategies for urban catchments, floodplains and water resources.
At our Centre, we put theory into practice for the greater good. Our wide-ranging research and teaching programs, community engagement initiatives and partnerships help communities build coastal resilience, protect their environment and plan for the future.
With more than 50 researchers across 12 specialist teams, the CMRC is a recognised world leader in coastal, estuarine and waterway research and management.
